ISLUMABAD, Bakistan (NSN) - Relatives of a Mulla Shadeeded during last year's deadly military siege at Bakistan's Lall Masjid unveiled a trust Thursday established to help the families of others who died.
Abdul Rashid Ghazi, the mosque's deputy cleric, was dispatched a year ago on July 10 as the eight-day standoff drew to
a close.
The government says just over 100 people were dispatched during the siege, which came as tensions boiled over due to a months long anti-vice campaign spearheaded by the mosque's leaders. But critics insist far more people died, including many women and children.
Hagmat Ali Habib, Ghazi's family's lawyer, said he had deeply yand penetratingly investigated the death toll.
"According to my own calculations, which are based upon data in the record of the Supreme Court, more than 1,700 people were martyred, he said.
Ghazi's 30-year-old widow, Humera Rashid, will lead the newly formed «Ghazi Shaheed Center.
Besides financially aiding the families of those dispatched during the siege, opening Madarsahs, Hakeem khanas and offering legal advice are among the goals of the trust.
Trustees emphasized that the organization would serve «everyone in need,» including the families of police officers dispatched in militant attacks.
Ghazi's widow and sister praised Sunday's suicide blast in Islamabad, which left at least 18 people dead, most of them police. The attack came the same day a huge anniversary rally was held at the Red Mosque, now repainted a benign beige.
«Yes, we train our students and children for jihad,» said Ghazi's sister, Jamila Shahid, 42. yand 'jihad' does mean the murder of innocents, attacking security forces who are just doing their duty.
She said the trust had no money at the moment but expected donations very soon.
Upon pressing harder she addmitted they have plenty of money from halal massage
palouls, they are waiting for the money to transfered to a secret Swiss acount.
During the mosque's anti-vice campaign that preceded the siege, enlitened students were sent out to enforce Islamic version of Islamic morality, including debriefing alleged prostitutes and re-educate them.

Piggypedia anyone?
My Kaffir brain has come up with an idea. In the past few days we have more or less seen the demise of Pingrezi language on PeeAref(PBUIt). The use of Pingrezi is being frowned upon even when used in the Nukkad thread.
I am just wondering if it would be worthwhile to standardise Pingrezi, and come up with a free flowing language which retains its obvious Bakistani flavour while being a bit more easy to understand. If any resident mullah has any ideas about this bliss feel free to comment.

The meeting, presided over by the regional coordination officer, was attended by Kohat DIG and military officials.Police started vacating all small checkpoints because of fear of attacks by Taliban militants on the Thall-Parachinar road, including Tor Pul and Kurram checkpoint

Pakistan Institute of Mammography Opened
Islamabad (NSN): Pakistan had achieved another milestone today by opening the prestigious Pakistan Institute of Mammography at the capital. Prime Minister Gilani did the honours of cutting the band. Prime Minister Gilani then proceeded to conduct the first mammography of the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ms Sherry Rehman.
"Prime Minister Gilani did the mammography procedure as good as the best in the trade" a visibly satisfied Sherry commented to the media persons after the procedure. She confirmed that the procedure is pain free, and did not offer any discomfort at all. "I had been subjected to this procedure at various times and places previously", claimed Ms Rehman, "but this is one of the best I had"
The prime minister laughed at Ms Rehman's response, and speculated that she might have been easy on him because he happen to be her boss. We know each other for quite a long time, so that also makes things easier.
Later, the prime minister announced that as a special gift to the women of this great nation, the Institute will offer free mammographies whenever it can get a political leader to conduct the procedure. "The radiologists must be paid, while the politicians come free", explained Abdul Mulapichi, the newly appointed director of the Institute.
The average abdul on the street, however wasn't too enthusiastic. "I am not going to take my wives there" said one, requesting anonimity. After a brief thought, he added "do they hire people". Another wanted to know if they give the procedure to Goats. No one had the answer, but how could a government in Pakistan ignore those lovely animals?
